Summary of the presentation

The experience in the last Spanish national campaigns in diagnosis and prevention of oral cancer is presented.

In the beginning there is a justification for the need of such campaigns, mainly coming from the fact that in Europe there is an important diagnosis delay that leads to death rates around 50% at 5 years.

A critical review of the campaigns is presented, analyzing the mistakes that were made and proposing solutions to improve them in the future.

The three targets to which this campaigns should be directed are identified (dentists, general population and civil services) and the several actions taken with each of them is related.
