Conference summary
In order to overcome this consequence of conventional dental preparations, Ignazio Loi presents BOPT – Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique.
This technique consists of a vertical preparation with gingitage of the sulcus, in order to promote a controlled bleeding. There is the formation of a blood clot that is sealed by a provisional restoration with controlled invasion of the gingival sulcus. Thus, after clot maturarion, there is a thickening of the periodontal soft tissues that will give stability to the gingival margin in the long term.
In this presentation, the step-by-step clinical procedures of preparation and provisionalization and the periodontal rationale inherent to this technique will be demonstrated.
