Conference summary
In a world where implants have superseded traditional full denture treatments to restore function and aesthetics to our edentulous patients, it is difficult to see that it can continue to be a treatment option. But for this we must learn the protocols that make us achieve the success of our treatment and thus achieve a retentive, functional and aesthetic prosthesis.
This procedure should begin with the assessment of the case, followed by taking preliminary and definitive impressions, together with a laboratory technician’s work that allows us to maintain what we have achieved in the clinic, and of course, have some basic notions of occlusion that make that our treatment is predictable in the medium and long term.
Our protocol is based on Jiro Abe’s SEMCD (Suction Effective Mandibular Complete Denture) technique, with some modifications to make it a more open protocol.
