Conference summary

By dental inclusion, we reffer to a tooth that is impacted or that has not erupted. Teeth most frequently impacted are the upper and lower third molars, followed by the canines and  premolars. Even so, any tooth can remain included, both in the primary and definitive dentition, even supernumerary.

The treatment of dental inclusion pathology occupies a large part of the clinical time of Dentists specialized in Oral Surgery.

Through this oral presentation, the author intends to explore this pathology, its characteristics, associated complications, clinical diagnosis and complementary exams, as well as treatment options, essentially in a surgical or orthodontic-surgical aspect.

Several clinical cases of dental inclusion, treatment planning and protocol followed will be shared. We will also try to present the main and current guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of dental inclusion.
