Conference summary

With regard to contemporary Operative Dentistry, the restorative approach to deep cavities continues to be considered a challenge in daily practice, due not only to the anatomical location and its relationship with the adjacent periodontal tissues but also to the histological characteristics of the teeth and their implications for the selection of restorative material and adhesion to the teeth substrate.

Bearing in mind the scientific evidence currently available, the aim of this presentation is to show the clinical criteria to be taken into account in the therapeutic decision process regarding this type of restorations.
