Conference summary
Respiratory obstructive sleep disorder can occur in up to 5% of children, with significant consequences such as learning difficulties, behavioral, cardiovascular and metabolic problems. Careful use of goldstandard for diagnosis, polysomnography, is important because of resources limitation. Polysomnography is reserved for doubtful cases, young children or co-morbidities. Although the most frequent cause is adenotonsillar hypertrophy, multifactorial evaluation of this pathology is fundamental for a correct therapeutic orientation.
