Conference summary

Orthodontic finishing still remains a continual challenge for the orthodontist. This clinical presentation deals with defining finishing goals and achieving them with the appropriate treatment mechanics for optimal esthetics, function and stability.

In reality, finishing begins with appropriate diagnosis and treatment planning. In contemporary orthodontic treatment, there is hardly an abrupt stage of complex wire bending to fine tune tooth position, but rather a gradual progression towards the end of treatment.

It is the intent of this presentation to present and discuss esthetical, occlusal and periodontal parameters, necessary to finish the orthodontic treatment with the highest standard.
