Conference summary

Despite the recent development of biomaterials and molecular technology in periodontal regeneration, there are several situations in which the reconstruction of periodontal support tissues, lost by disease, has to be reestablished. In recent years we have witnessed constant developments in the area of oral rehabilitation aiming to improve aesthetic results.

This presentation focuses on the multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of esthetic sequelae of periodontal disease in order to obtain lasting and stable esthetic results. Among other subjects will be discussed the use of Fixed Prosthodontics and Esthetic Dentistry in the rationalization and treatment of teeth with reduced periodontal support and the best way to deal with gingival esthetics.

This lecture will illustrate different treatment options with fixed restorations of situations presenting challenging clinical dilemmas. From identifying the problem and the selection of the best transitional restoration to the definitive solution; limitations, advantages and disadvantes of different materials will be presented and discussed.
