Conference summary

Malocclusions can be detected either in the primary, mixed or permanent dention.

In this conference, the diagnosis and the early treatment of malocclusions in Class I patients in the primary and mixed dentition will be presented.

The aims of the early treatment are to avoid further problems in the permanent dentition, to enable a more simple orthodontic treatment in the permanent dentition and to give back the patient an occlusion close to normal as early as possible.

The early orthodontic treatment of some malocclusions will be presented focusing on the posterior crossbite, the anterior crossbite, the openbite, the ectopic eruption of the permanent first molar among others.
