Summary of the presentation
The author discusses the importance of the relationship Dental Medicine – Stomatology in the context of multidisciplinary teams, based on his experience of nearly two decades as a Dentist Dental Service of a Cancer Hospital (Institute of Oncology Francisco Gentil – Centro Regional do Porto EPE).
Result of this synergy and cooperation therapeutic possibilities that would not be achievable in the same way, without this collaboration.
Can we’d sum up the vocation of a Service of Stomatology of this nature to three major areas: Diagnostic Oral Pathology, Oral Cavity Treatment and associated structures in patients undergoing cancer treatments, various medical and surgical equipment and systems; Rehabilitation Buco maxillo-facial patients undergoing cancer surgery and / or treatments of head and neck area;
