Summary of the presentation
The dentist is responsible for the diagnosis and first therapeutic approach in patients with muscleskeletal emergengies of the stomatognatic system.
However there are TMJ and/or muscular situations in which the treatment success is dependent on the physical therapist intervention.
Manual techniques and/or the application of physical means can be indispensible for functional reestablishment.
During the presentation we will highlight the importance of multidisciplinary treatment and coordination dentist/Physical therapist, in patients with temporomandibular disorders.
