Summary of the presentation
Muscular temporomandibular disorders (mTMD) are a major cause of nondental pain in the orofacial region, signs and symptoms associated with TMD are a common source of chronic pain complaints in the head and neck structures.
Early diagnosis of mTMD signs and symptoms is great importance in optimizing treatment prognosis and avoiding establishment of chronic pain, which treatment is more complex and less predictable.
During this presentation we will highlight the steps for an accurate diagnosis in mTMD patients, without which it’s impossible to establish an appropriate treatment plan.
