Conference summary

Premature oral aging is an increasingly evident clinical reality, especially among young adults exposed to modern lifestyle factors such as chronic stress, acidic diets, sleep disturbances, and parafunctional habits like bruxism.

The Syndrome of Premature Oral Aging presents signs such as structural tooth loss, microcracks, pulp calcifications, and vertical dimension loss — often in patients with “clean” mouths, free from caries, yet functionally and structurally compromised.

This lecture aims to raise awareness among clinicians about the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches required in these cases, where non-carious lesions, enamel cracks, and pulp changes challenge the traditional, infection-based paradigm.

We will explore minimally invasive strategies integrating modern adhesive techniques, biomimetic restorative materials, and comprehensive aesthetic and functional rehabilitation plans.

Special emphasis will be given to early diagnosis, individualised risk management, and the dentist’s role as an educator in behavioural change.

By the end of the session, participants will be equipped to recognise the early signs of this syndrome, apply conservative treatment protocols, and promote oral health in patients who often exhibit accelerated oral aging — without being aware of it.

A new perspective for a new generation of clinical challenges.
