Conference summary

The incorporation of CAD-CAM technologies into the laboratory setting has profoundly transformed the way orthodontic devices are designed and manufactured, providing a more precise, predictable approach focused on the efficiency of the technical process.

This lecture offers a practical and specialized perspective on the contribution of digital tools to the design and fabrication of devices within the dental laboratory.

It will explore the main digital design solutions, virtual planning processes in close collaboration with the orthodontist, as well as the manufacturing stages using 3D printing with certified materials for intraoral use.

This lecture also aims to encourage reflection on the current and future role of the dental technician in the digital era, as a professional specialized in the application of advanced manufacturing technologies, highlighting the challenges and opportunities that progressive digitalization brings to the field of orthodontics.
