Conference summary
Success in endodontics does not rely solely on technical execution, but above all on a well-founded clinical decision.
This presentation will address the criteria that guide the choice between primary treatment and non-surgical endodontic retreatment, based on scientific evidence, accurate diagnosis, and risk-benefit analysis.
The essential stages of clinical planning will be explored, from case evaluation (clinical, radiographic, and CBCT) to the selection of the most appropriate approach, considering anatomy, accessibility, and prognosis.
Through illustrative clinical cases, examples of successful treatments and retreatments will be presented — as well as situations in which the best decision was not to intervene.
The aim of this lecture is to empower clinicians to make more conscious, predictable, and patient-centered decisions, highlighting the importance of planning as a key element in endodontic success.
