Conference summary

Medical acupuncture today appears to the dentist as a high-quality tool, based on proven scientific evidence, which can be used in daily clinical practice, in various types of treatment, either as a standalone therapy or as a complementary approach.

The dental treatment presents its own characteristics in which acupuncture can provide a very specific and useful neuro-endocrine response.

In this conference, some treatments will be addressed and explained where the use of acupuncture could be an excellent option to consider, such as:

  • analgesia and pain control (acute or chronic);
  • anxiety management in adults or children (preoperative);
  • hemorrhage control, pre- and post-surgery;
  • rehabilitation of paresthesia;
  • bruxism and TMD (Temporomandibular Disorder);
  • aesthetic acupuncture;
  • medical emergencies.
