Conference summary
Due to the constant evolution of the technical and scientific knowledge within the scope of Dental Medicine, the Portuguese Dental Association took the decisive step towards the establishment of specific Sectoral Competencies in this area.
This initiative not only aims to broaden the horizons of Dental Medicine, but also provide its members with valuable tools in an increasingly competitive environment and where professional recognition and competence is essential.
In addition, this represents a significant advance in the sense of allowing the patient to understand, with greater clarity, the irreplaceable role of the dentist in promoting global health and improving the quality of life of patients. In this session, we intend to clarify the currentness, relevance and pertinence of creating these sectoral competences in Dental Medicine.
Each Coordinator, representing one of the respective Sectoral Competence, will be responsible for presenting, in a brief and instructive way, the preponderance of each domain of competence in the panorama of contemporary Dental Medicine.
