Conference summary
The main precautions in the preoperative evaluation in patients who will undergo oral surgery and have medical commitment will be addressed, with emphasis to the following topics:
1 – Choice of anesthetic salts and vasoconstrictor and their respective safe doses in the target patients of the presentation (diabetic, hypertensive, cardiac, immunocompromised, chronic renal, transplanted, etc.) and complementing with the gestation period despite not being a disease.
2 – Surgical care for patients using anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents.
3 – Management of odontogenic infection: basic principles of main drugs in medically compromised patients.
4 – Surgical care in patients using drugs from the bisphosphonate group.
