The first consultation in dentistry is of central importance from a clinical point of view.
This consultation is crucial for the exercise of a more rigorous dentistry and more focused on the patient’s interest.
This presentation will focus on practical aspects for the implementation and systematization of this consultation:
- Clinical history – how to perform;
- Urgent Consultation (in person vs. not in person);
- Main health problems and impact on therapeutic decision: Diabetes, Coronary disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Endocarditis, Drug allergies;
- Clear, useful communication and in the primary interest of the patient based on ethical and deontological aspects;
- Training of the medical team and auxiliaries;
- The Treatment Plan – when and how to presente;
- A clinic with and without a protocolized Initial Exam – differences in the short, medium and long term.
