Conference summary

The clinical approach in calcified root canals represents a challenge for the clinician, especially at a time when a minimally invasive approach is increasingly being sought.

The search for calcified canals can be challenging and time-consuming, which can lead to a huge loss of tooth structure, which may be associated with an increased risk of perforation and, in the worst case, the loss of the tooth by fracture.

Currently, the use of new technologies has made it possible to increase the predictability of the approach of these clinical cases, thus improving the prognosis of treatment.

The use of digital planning has provided the clinician with another therapeutic option, “guided endodontics”, this technique consists of the use of a guide, which aims to facilitate the location of severely calcified root canals.

With this hands-on course, we aim to provide the clinician with the necessary knowledge to plan and approach this type of case.
